Hello everyone...Just wanted to remind you all of the dates for my show(s), the Deere Country Challenge 2012, for this year...

It will once again be a double-header (two days, two separate shows) to be held at my arena in Knutsford, BC (just South of Kamloops) and will be a Central BC/CTCPA-sanctioned event. The show will be held on June 16th and 17th, which is also Father's Day weekend.

Details/info should be coming via a poster in the next little while, and you will be able to check the Central BC Team Cattle Penning website, which has a link from the Canadian Team Cattle Penning website, for more info when it comes available.

There will once again be lots of prizes available, although the prize format this year will be slightly different. I am planning first and second place prizes in all classes EACH DAY this year, rather than for the two day average; as well as some highpoint rider prizes (as usual) for the two day average. I will have Prizes to minimum of 3rd place in the (unsanctioned) 2 PLUS class for both days (again) as well...

I purchased some hand-made Henry Loiseau custom stirrups for one of the larger classes (minimum value of $250 a pair); and beautiful Montana Silversmith Buckles inset with little Emerald colored stones for prizes in one of the lower numbered classes...just to name a few.

So be sure to mark your calendars, and we'll see you in Knutsford in June!

**Thank you to the Andres for hosting CBCTCPA 2011 Fundraiser Poker Ride.  90 Hands were sold for a beautiful ride on a beautiful day.  Congratulations to our lucky winners; Launi Giesbrecht 1st place, Cindy Ludwig 2nd place and Heather Stewart 3rd place.  Thank you to all who came out to support our club and thank you to all who helped make it a great success.

To All Penners

At the CTCPA meeting held on Monday August 29 I heard from a number of club representatives that they are hearing from some of their members that they are unsure if the  2011 National Finals may be cancelled. I can assure you that the Nationals will definitely  be run this year.

A substantial deposit has been paid to book the facilities at the Calgary Stampede and all prizes have been ordered which includes real silver buckles and some beautiful  blankets. From the feedback that we have received we believe that this year we have the right mix of classes that penners at every level can be competitive in.

Our host hotel The Blackfoot Inn has offered an extremely low rate this year of $89.00 per night. Their  flyer with booking instructions will be posted on our website in a few days.

 Remember this is your Association and we need your support.

CBCTCPA 2011 Poker Ride August 28th, 2011

***The National Finals Committee has met and agreed to reduce the number of shows from SIX to FIVE for the 2011 show. The number of shows to qualify will be placed on the agenda for discussion at our next AGM.

***Please note that the Calgary Stampede qualifier was a sanctioned show and therefore counts for those of you who competed.

Judging Clinic - There will be a judging clinic on August 12th, 2011 at 7:00pm at the Kosinski/Walker campsite during the Prince George Challenge Jackpot.
